More traffic on its own doesn't really help them. A person searching for legal help usually has one very specific problem, and they mean business.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So the search plan had two jobs to do. What I was really after was a sturdier technical base, one that would slowly widen the number of relevant searches the firm turned up for.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\r\n\r\n<div class=\"et_pb_heading_5 et_pb_heading et_pb_module et_block_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_heading_container\"><h3 class=\"et_pb_module_header\">The organic growth<\/h3><\/div><\/div>\r\n\r\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_9 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_block_module preset--module--divi-text--default\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As the SEO work built on itself, Google started giving the site a lot more visibility.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Daily organic clicks showed it most clearly. Sure, throwing more budget at the account would've brought in more conversions. In FY 2022-23 they brought in roughly 27,500 more paid clicks than the earlier reporting periods had.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Squeezing a little extra efficiency out of an existing campaign is one thing. Here, paid search had grown into a much larger source of website traffic in its own right.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\r\n\r\n<div class=\"et_pb_heading_10 et_pb_heading et_pb_module et_block_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_heading_container\"><h2 class=\"et_pb_module_header\">Looking Beyond Google Ads<\/h2><\/div><\/div>\r\n\r\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_19 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_flex_module preset--module--divi-text--default\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One thing I really didn't want was to judge each channel in a bubble. Through <a href=\"https:\/\/analytics.google.com\/analytics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Google Analytics<\/a> I tracked how people found the site and what they did once they got there, across organic search, paid search, direct traffic and referral traffic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over time, visits went up across all of these major channels.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That wider view mattered. Making an SEO report look nicer or pumping up the click count inside Google Ads was never the real aim. On top of that, organic optimisation widened how often the firm showed up in search, while Google Ads caught high-intent searchers straight away.
